Want to lower your blood pressure, prevent depression, lower your risk of heart attack, and boost your immune system? Adopt a pet. Research studies repeatedly show that owning a pet can have these health benefits and more, and it doesn’t have to be a big pet.

You could begin enjoying these health benefits today by adopting Baby, a petite, 9-month-old male black rabbit. Baby has been at the Lancaster County SPCA since May. He was surrendered by an owner who could no longer care for him.

Baby loves to be petted and will take treats gently from your hand. He gets along with other rabbits, but would be just as happy living alone with a human to love.

Rabbits are ideal pets for those short on space and time. They need a comfortable cage, litter box, and a healthy diet that includes rabbit pellets, Timothy hay, and assorted fresh vegetables and fruits. They also need at least 20 minutes of playtime outside their cages each day.
