Lee Miller is RSVP’s York County Volunteer of the Month for January.
For as long as she can remember, Miller felt it has been important to give back to the people of her community.
For most of her adult life, she has volunteered in many ways. It started with church, teaching Sunday school and serving on church council, various committees, and the PAL lunch program through the Hanover Area Council of Churches and then the Hanover YWCA.
Several years ago, Miller began volunteering with the Touch-A-Life program, primarily as a driver. She takes clients to medical appointments in the York and Hanover areas. As she soon learned, a driver becomes a friend and companion to those in need.
A simple act, such as giving someone a ride, helping with bingo, or just being a friendly companion may not seem significant, but what is important is that Miller is sharing her God-given talents with those in need.
