Beginning Feb. 7 and continuing through April 13, AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest volunteer-based free tax-preparation service. Volunteers are trained and IRS certified every year to ensure they understand the latest changes to the U.S. tax code.

Tax-Aide in Lebanon County is using two options for providing taxpayer assistance. These are subject to change. Visit aarpfoundation.org/taxaide for details.

Drop-off: Taxpayers interact with IRS-certified Tax-Aide volunteers in one short, in-person meeting to drop off tax documents. An appointment to pick up the completed return will be scheduled for a later time. (This is the option at Myerstown Church of the Brethren and Lebanon Senior Center in Lebanon County.)

In-person: In Tax-Aide’s traditional in-person service, taxes are prepared and filed by IRS-certified tax counselors on the same day. (This is the option at Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, Jonestown.)

To make an appointment at one of three tax sites in Lebanon County (Jonestown, Myerstown, or Lebanon), leave a message with your name and phone number at (717) 274-2596.

Schedulers will return calls and a packet of information will be mailed. Face masks are strongly suggested at all tax sites.
