Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging will again coordinate the distribution of checks for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

The program provides seniors fresh, nutritious, unprepared fruits and vegetables from farmers markets and expands the awareness and use of farmers markets.

Check distribution will occur between June 1 and Sept. 30 or until all gone. Checks expire Nov. 30.

Seniors must be 60 years of age or older by Dec. 31, 2024. There are income limits based on the entire household, which have increased since last year: $27,861 for a one-person household; $37,814 for two people; and $47,767 for three people; and $57,720 for four people.

Qualifying seniors will receive five $10 checks to be used at approved vendors for Pennsylvania-grown produce. A list of local vendors will accompany the checks. There is also an FMNP Market Locator app for Android and Apple devices.

The Area Agency on Aging will conduct in-person distributions and have mail applications for those unable to attend an in-person event (mailed applications take longer to process).

To receive a mailed application, call the Area Agency on Aging at (717) 273-9262 or print the application from the website: lebanoncountypa.gov/departments/aging
