The York County Area Agency on Aging’s APPRISE Program will offer free personalized counseling during Medicare’s annual open enrollment period, which begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
The annual open enrollment period is when Medicare beneficiaries can review their coverage and determine if health and prescription plans continue to meet their needs.
By comparing plans and making changes by Dec. 7, Medicare will have enough time to process those changes to ensure that the new coverage will begin on Jan. 1, 2020.
Medicare beneficiaries throughout the annual open enrollment period will be able to receive one-on-one counseling assistance offered by trained APPRISE counselors at different locations throughout York County.
Prescheduled appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the APPRISE scheduling line at (717) 771-9042 or (800) 632-9073.
