Downingtown Library is accepting donations of gently used books, CDs, and DVDs in good condition for its upcoming fall book sale.

Sewin’ Sisters Sowing needs help providing winter hats, scarves, and mittens for the children in Allison Hill.

Recently the Downingtown Area Senior Center collected 65 coats for adults and children and took them to the Burlington Coat Factory in Springfield,

Running through December, Senior Commons at Powder Mill is collecting winter coats and blankets to be donated to Bell Family Shelter.

Senior Commons, in partnership with New Fairview Church of the Brethren in York, is asking for new or gently used coats and blankets for adults and children.

All donations benefit Bell Family Shelter, which opened in 1986 and remains York County’s only 30-day emergency shelter serving homeless families.
