Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging will once again coordinate the distribution of checks for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
The program provides seniors fresh, nutritious, unprepared fruits and vegetables from farmers markets and expands the awareness and use of farmers markets.
Check distribution will occur between June 1 and Sept. 30 or until all gone. Checks expire Nov. 30.
Seniors must be 60 years of age or older by Dec. 31, 2022. There are income limits based on the entire household, which have increased since last year.
Qualifying seniors will receive four $6 checks to be used at approved vendors for Pennsylvania-grown produce. A list of local vendors will accompany the checks. There is also an FMNP Market Locator app for Android and Apple devices.
This year the Area Agency on Aging will restart the in-person distributions as well as continue to mail out applications for those who prefer.

- June 3, 4-7 p.m. – First Friday Market, Lebanon Train Depot at YMCA, North Eighth Street, Lebanon
- June 13, 9 a.m. to noon – Maple Street Senior Center, 710 Maple St., Lebanon
- June 29, 1-3 p.m. – Palmyra Senior Center/Interfaith Manor, 101 S. Railroad St., Palmyra
- July 1, 4-7 p.m. – First Friday Market, Lebanon Train Depot at YMCA, North Eighth Street, Lebanon
- July 5, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Hebron Banquet Hall, 701 E. Walnut St., Lebanon (preregister event with senior centers)
- July 11, 1-2 p.m. – Stevens Towers, 930 Willow St., Lebanon
- July 13, 1-3 p.m. – Annville Senior Center, 200 S. White Oak St., Annville
- July 18, noon to 1 p.m. – Lebanon County Christian Ministries, 250 S. Seventh St., Lebanon
- July 26, 1-3 p.m. – Myerstown Senior Center, 59 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown
