The Central Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, which does business as rabbittransit, recently accepted a generous donation from local veterans. The James A. Danner, VFW Post 537 in Etters, made the donation.

The $1,000 donation was made to rabbittransit to support veterans’ medical transportation in York County.

Since the launch of its YORKVET transportation shuttle in partnership with the York County Depart of Veterans Affairs, rabbittransit has begun to receive donations within the community.

The donations will support local veterans in securing transportation to local community-based outreach clinics in York and Camp Hill, as well as transportation to the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

“We are extremely pleased with VFW Post 537’s donation. Over 300 trips are performed each month on the YORKVET shuttle. Without such support, rabbittransit would not be able to provide the transportation assistance needed,” said Richard Farr, rabbittransit executive director.

The YORKVET shuttle operates every weekday departing York at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. For those interested in learning more about veterans’ transportation options, call (800) 632-9063, email info@rabbittransit.org or visit www.rabbittransit.org.
